AWAITING CONFIRMATION: SUITE 1.6 toolbar falls behind PS CS6

Hey there,

I tried all 4 solutions from the Troubleshooting section of the wiki (actually PS CS6 is always running in 64-bit as is the SUITE on my PC) but the SUITE keeps falling behind Photoshop.
Sometimes I can force it to stay on top when Photoshop is NOT maximized. I then have to select the toolbar and right click on its "Thinking" tab in the taskbar and select the SUITE from there. The "Thinking" tab disappears and the toolbar does not lose focus when I shift to Photoshop or maximize Photoshop.

Any fix for this?

I had this problem before, i just closed PS and started quixel suite, starting up quixel first, will open PS later, and thats how i solved this.

Yeah, that is how I usually start the Suite (via its start menu shortcut) - the troubleshooting section advises to try starting PS first which is of no help either. But thanks for your input. I hope this gets fixed some day because it is somewhat annoying :)

Since I'm still having this problem, I'll post my specs here too. I was able to run the Suite once, and that was after installing a patch that was released after the Beta was over. Tried replicating it without success. I'm running PS CC 2014.

Still not working on my end. Doesn't ask for a license or anything. I installed the 1.7 preview without any problems, but in the toolbar it still says 1.6. Might just be that number wasn't updated?

The toolbar doesnt seem to change, after all this is only a preview. But try using the option of setting an explicit connection with your photoshop exe, that might do the trick.

That's what I thought, just making sure that was the case.

Setting an explicit connection to Photoshop causes the Suite to crash like when trying to load Ddo, or Ndo. When trying to load 3do it says "Loading mesh and textures..." gets to 50% then stops.

Thanks, AlphaMix, it was worth a shot anyway.

I have updated to 1.7 and still can not get the suite to launch in front of photoshop cc. soon as i click ddo button it just freezes. i can not get the quixel suite to launch anymore or the legacy version to work. Up until about a month ago the beta and legacy version worked just fine. I am unable to use any version and I am stuck without any ideas as i have followed all instructions on the wiki troubleshoot page. problem started happening when i installed quixel suite 1.6. now the beta has the same problem and the legacy version never gets past the splash screen

Sorry, I cannot confirm the fix. Actually it got worse - now the trick I used in my first post does not work either. Once I maximize photoshop or click any of its menus the QUIXEL Suite toolbar falls behind and out of reach.

Suite has an explicit path to my PS executable. I tried automatic once and got a bunch of Errors (one stating a specific dDo Namespace could not be found in one of the Java classes/files).

With 1.7c I can sometimes convince the SUITE to stay on top of PS.
PS has to be launched first and the SUITE last for this to work.
But that's no guaranteed solution - sometimes I Need several attempts. And I have not found out if it works better when PS is not maximized while launching the SUITE or if it needs to be maximized.
    Sorry, this bug is alive.

Have you both made sure you´re running both the suite and PS as admins?
Also, are there any other applications you´re running at the same time that might interfere, like apps for drawing tablet or anything like that?

Here's a question: Do you by chance have Lazy Nezumi Pro installed? I have found that Quixel and Lazy Nezumi do not play together nicely at all. I have had this frustrating bug of the Quixel bar falling behind Photoshop as well as many other bugs, such as being unable to use hotkeys or Photoshop menus while NDO or DDO were running. I invested hours into troubleshooting before I finally found that closing Lazy Nezumi Pro while using Quixel fixed the issue.

So if you've got it, try closing it and see if that fixes the issue.

Not working, Eric. Lazy Nezumi Pro was not running (aka process not started) in my tests. I've started PS in admin mode. Started the Suite in admin mode. It always falls behind if my input focus shifts to photoshop. Sorry. I'll probably wait some weeks before getting back to the Suite. Until then I'll use a competitor's software.
