Hey guys.
As I'm totally new to the whole texturing, I'd like to hear if anyone has got any tutorials or even books. I'd love the person that could give me a good headstart. The problem i have at the moment is i can make a texture, but it seems lifeless as if i was just adding a plain colour to a material.
I've got access to Photoshop, 3ds max and Unity. In case someone has a guide which uses this software.
Thanks in Advance,
Dyring * Curious 3D Noob.

That is a decent start off. Although it uses Maya instead of Max. Texturing can be tricky to start off with. With texturing you have to find a decent workflow for making different materials like metal or wood. You might benefit if you can use a sculpting package to give you detailed AO, normal and cavity maps. They really help. Also maybe you could download UDK 3, it's free and textures look a lot better in it.
