The color idea takes away a LOT of detail from the background. Personally I find the values in your first one better, it seems more balanced!

thats some pretty awesome rendering happening! Love the addition of bodies. The refining around the headdress is really kickass! Personally I'd try pushing the glow around her head just a tad more! Really love the design! thumbs up dude!

i liked the first kimono-esque designs better. she looked more like a japanese demon and less "space babe" what with the boobs and blueish skin
