Pretty awesome design. Like the fact that he has a crab claw. Really gives him character...Im not too sure about the hat and I also think the robe can have a few more details its a little plain. Definitely look at Mindflayer clothing for better idea.

Thanks for the critique! I'm trying to get used to doing my own concepts...it's been awhile. reference, reference, reference...
Thought I'd clean it up a bit then I decided I didn't like the top of the head, then I pushed into the claw a bit and part of the clothes...must sleep now....
Really enjoying a chance to draw again, always with the zbrushing, keep forgetting to draw. good stuff! I'm definitely having fun.
Thought about the plant like creatures from At The Mountains of Madness and tried a new design for the top of his head...and yes I'm procrastinating on the clothing design a bit, tried a few concepts but nothing is turning out very good yet.
I got stuck on where to go next on the concept so I thought maybe if I try a different method of drawing I'll see it from a different angle and figure it out.
I like the idea about him, particularly the dice-staff. Also I have a weak spot for anything Cthulhu.
You're making it too complicated though. The second design you posted was heading the right direction. Just give him a nice big simple wizards hat, perhaps made out of leather from some kind of fantasy beast if you want to give it a special surface.
Above all the character should be fun. Every design element should add to that.
It's good that you practice your drawing skills but if you feel stuck I recommend just get started with the model and go back and forth between designing and building. At least it will help you avoid any traps like designing something that works on the drawing but turns out not to in 3D.
Going to try to keep at it with the pixely stuff. Seems to be a quick way to get ideas out...though to sculpt the final concept I'll either have to re-draw it or just use it as a guideline while sculpting.
wow, good stuff you got there!
I would also recommend to start working now in 3D and see how it goes
If you only block out stuff starting with big shapes you can concept in 3D and see what will work nicely together.
Just a quick render post re-topology and AO bake...didn't actually think I'd be able to finish this thing, he might not be as flashy as some of the other entries but I like him!
So I think I like this color setup...been just throwing paint at it all day. Going to do a detail pass tonight and try to get it finished and posed up.
Split the eyes after watching an episode of Teen Titans Go...Raven's eyes sometimes split into four like that when she goes Demon mode, looks pretty cool I think!
I need to re-do the claw and I wanted to play around with variations on the colors some more but I've been at work all day every day including tonight so I'll just have to see if I can find a few hours later to change things...

I haven't been drawing very much for the past few years...really trying to get back into it.

Behold, Naked Veigar!...kinda.
Now to come up with variations on the outfit.

Soon soon! Not used to doing concept art though...

Spent some more time on the D20 staff earlier.

What do you mean by heat? color value? like more warmer colors?
