Haven't really been a forum person much lately ^^ but gonna give this a shot
I really like gnar but I'm gonna try and make him less adorable hehe~

so here are some gesture sketches to start out

ohh shit xD I didn't notice that --maybe I did it subconsciously ahaha
Still gonna need a lot more rendering ^^ so I hope its gonna resemble it a bit less in the end xD Maybe I'll edit the colours a bit too:) but thanks!

Are you going for a cosmic - stars and galaxies theme? Right now it looks like a Lava-Gnar theme, which might cause the Naruto mixup? Perhaps some other colours than orange can help you out?

Perhaps have a look at the MTG Theros and Born of the Gods set, cause there are some cards featuring creatures that have cosmic aspects within their bodies. (http://www.magicspoiler.com/mtg-spoiler/nyxborn-triton/)

thanks for the ref Aer! yes I was gonna change the colour scheme since multiple people kinda compared it to naruto x3 (I only made it orange in the beginning because Gnars basecolour is also orange)

Here's a new colour scheme though its still a wip so can still change everything ^^ I know it looks a bit messy right now hahah~ but I hope this clears the Kyuubi feels for most people
