Hello everyone!
So my approach on the contest started with a simple question: Which character is most deserving of a legendary skin? After a couple days of reflexion, it seemed pretty obvious that my only choice was to give some love to the outrageous... the dazzling, the FABULOUS TARIC.
What you see here is a basic "moodboard" of where I want to go and a little facial expression chart to get me into character. So here's the goal: I'm going to animate how I would see Fabulous Taric move and interact in-game, the way a legendary skin most of the time gets his own unique animation kit. Taric was really the first character I played extensively when I started League of Legends so I'm happy to go forward with this, I really want to bring alive the internet fame the character developed over the years!
Here are some rough doodles of my initial pose research. I will be keeping the thread up to date and will try to comment as much as I can on my workflow when I approach developing an "animation kit", paper planning being the first and longest part.

So I spent a bit of time researching the pose and stance I would like to get during his run cycle. Things I wanted to keep in mind and problems I ran into:
- The size of the hammer made it quite difficult to find a stance I was satisfied with and an appealing silhouette.
- It took a long time to find a good flow and an interesting pose that would result in a satisfying cycle in all angles from game cam.
However I'm pretty happy with my first tests, not saying I won't move away from this but here it goes!

So here goes the very rough blocking, I'm considering going forward but I might try some more stuff before settling and fleshing out more the animation. Hope you like it!
nice work
It really look fabulous
Little update without actual animation for tonight but here's a quick little glance at my approach towards having an idle pose for the character. It's not necessary for the contest but I've developed a habit of going through that kind of iteration for most of the work I do.
I'm mainly looking for lines of action and actual shape and readability in game screen in this update. I'm working rapidly from pose to pose, getting a feel for the character and trying stuff out. It's a very organic process and it helps me break the "first idea" syndrome, while letting me explore different ideas quickly, small changes after small changes. So looking for your opinions here as I've not settled on anything! If anything catches your eye let me know!
So again, not settled on any one pose, I'm liking a couple of stuff here and there on each one. Stay tuned, blocking for attacks/ult in process Hope you're enjoying so far!
Keep it sassy!
nice work

Soooooo there we go! I had a lot of fun going through this contest so I would like to thank Polycount and Riot Games for creating this great opportunity!
Also thanks to everyone on here for the early comments, it kept me going forward with this idea! Finally... because OF COURSE nothing is ever done... to follow in the footsteps of Riot... I actually DID do a "Das Beer Boot" inspired dance to go with the character, because let's face it... what's a fabulous character without his fabulous dance? It's however not in a state where I'm ready to share it, but I thought I'd rather put it out there because I am planning to finish it in a matter of days and will share it with you guys!
Good luck to all the contestants!
AND the animations! Nice one man good luck!
