Hello one and all. I guess I'm going to try and take a stab at this. I'm still trying to find a basis for what art direction I want to go for my buildings. My silhouettes are a bit all over the place.I'm going to probably be working on silhouettes for a while until I get an idea that I like.

Part of the designs are inspired by the Songbird statue (sitting on my desk), a Dishonored lightning tower (since the art dump), a mysterious obelisk sticking out of grass, the usual fantasy floating orbs trope, and finally the usual rune-carved stone trope.
For my second piece I worked more on the idea of floating wall from some old fortress/siege weapon, a sword inspired by an old Noob Challenge post of cool sci-fi daggers sticking from the ground, a rework of that obelisk sentinel/rune stone, a odd idea of a statue of two tied up giants which is interesting but don't know how they'll attack, and of course a Destiny-inspired orb.
More to come.
So currently my thought is a clock tower/watchtower for the tower in the lane, a slaughter house of sorts for the creep spawner, and a barracks or keep for the inhibitor. I will aim to get some concept art up for the Tower and Creep Spawner soon but I keep trying to get the perspective and die constantly.

At Riot Games, we have a very strong feedback culture. We pivot and make adjustments when things can be done better or are not working. In the spirit of this culture and after internal conversations with feedback from the community, we have decided to make some tweaks to the environment section of the contest. You can now choose to create the turret or the inhibitor rather than being required to create both. We want to make sure we are giving everyone enough time to create assets that you are proud of and able to finish in time for the December 19th deadline.
We are also tweaking the animation com petition and not have animators pick an established character since animating a specific character without the exact model will be difficult. We want to see solid animations that are keeping the animation style of LoL in mind when creating these ability assets.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
