@Neox yes its flat shaded but I believe you can use opcaity also but the idea I have it to re-skin him and not use the green or purple translucent that is used at the moment.
Hopefully have something sketched out by the weekend!
Cheers guys, going to squeeze this one in.....hopefully lol
I have posted a shader question in the forum as I think they are using some form of specular created in the shader and not via a map. I also think they use some form of opacity to give him a translucent effect....really interested in seeing what they come back with on this as right now they do not mention much clarity of shader effects.
cool choice, I'm also interested to watch how this will turn out. I kind of think that specular baked or hand painted on top of diffuse is also a way out, and I think it would look great.
It might just be me but it seems like you are sculpting at a really high res? Don't get me wrong, your forms are looking good but might be a tad easier to change stuff up if you go a bit lower til you finalize ur shapes. Looks really sharp so far!
Cheers mate You are right its a higher than ideal it should be so I think you are right I will need to knock it down to finalize it. I have to say its great fun doing a stylized character, makes a huge change from all the usual stuff
Yea looking at his in game model, yours feels like its getting a tad too busy. I realize a lot of people are just trying to make their creations look cool but it does feel like the detail level on some of these is a bit too much for a LOL character. Of course, I'm not judging...I think it looks awesome with so much detail. At the same time, you don't want to take away from his simplistic design and the silhouette he has.
Cheers man, yeah thats what struck me as I was knee deep in sculpting.....I am thinking of dialing him back as it does feel like to much. Thanks for the feedback
I would had way more lava, less rock. Zac is a blob, not a rock. Malphite is a rock. He needs to be bloby (is that even a word XD) remember that he stretch, he squash he explode. A rock can't do that, you need liquid, much liquid.
Thanks for the feedback The crust is what sits upon his body which is made of the magma underneath I am also looking to model out his different states also......oh and the bloblets
Hope you don't mind if I hop in :P
I don't know what more you are planning on doing with him, but do you think he's not a bit too uniform? I guess you're going to do most of the color work in the shader, though you could maybe add some subtle blues or purples in to give him a bit more gradient. I did a quick paintover to demonstrate.
Also, maybe you can do something to differentiate him from the environment as well.
Ignore me if this is venturing away from your original vision though
Good luck!
@Jelligeth Thanks for the feedback....much appreciated Yeah I still need to play with the colors to see how he fits, must admit I am tempted to go back to the magma version. Really appreciate the overpaint and all that is cool by me
@Sundaynights I am still tempted to use the magma version and I will give each version a little play to see how it fits

Still a very long way to go but its a start!
@ArtLearner Cheers man, I have a plan....just hope it works out!

I think you are right, thinking I may also add a little of the lefts reds into the mix also.
