So let's start with the sketchin'.
This is what I want the turret to be. A runed slab that just says do not fuck with me.
Next up, I'm gonna start doodling and throwing around inhibitor ideas. That one has me stumped. I'm not too worried about the den though, I'm sure it will come when I have a solid turret and inhibitor thought out.

Had this idea of making its crystal a cube, so I just went with it. Here's what I'm going with:
Starting the den sketches tomorrow. Let me know what you think of these!
I went for a little graveyard corner, with a sort of catacomb entrance in the back, carved into the rock formations.

Barons and drake's den are bigger ( http://riot-web-static.s3.amazonaws.com/images/news/June_2014/SRDB/srdb4.jpg ) but they mention "minion" so not sure if bosses emplacement count :X

Made it smaller according to feedback. Keeping the graveyard idea, but I blasted it down to just a single lonely grave.

Hi everyone,
At Riot Games, we have a very strong feedback culture. We pivot and make adjustments when things can be done better or are not working. In the spirit of this culture and after internal conversations with feedback from the community, we have decided to make some tweaks to the environment section of the contest. You can now choose to create the turret or the inhibitor rather than being required to create both. We want to make sure we are giving everyone enough time to create assets that you are proud of and able to finish in time for the December 19th deadline.
We are also tweaking the animation com petition and not have animators pick an established character since animating a specific character without the exact model will be difficult. We want to see solid animations that are keeping the animation style of LoL in mind when creating these ability assets.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Now what I am thinking of doing is continuing with my inhibitor design but integrate the turret design into the den. I think the tablet could be much more interesting than the grave.

Guess I'll stop here and push forward with my inhibitor.
I'm still debating whether to add chains to the rings behind the floating shields, but part of me tells me it could be too much. What do you think?
