[Riot Art Contest] - Evelynn, She's got the touch

Hopefully I will too. I'm planning on doing a new illustration for Eve's original skin. As much as I love her, girl needs a rework art wise. I'll be sure to post up work, likely later tonight. Critiques and tips are of course always appreciated. :)

Rough sketch for my piece. Sorry she has a lack of a face, I'm planning on doing some studies to get a likeness.

She doesn´t appear to be running on the same perspective as her background, probably best to change the background as that would be easier and match it to the persective on the character. Cool start though :) What´s she running from?

It does look a bit off now that I look closer at it. I'll definitely still be messing around with it. The idea is she's escaping an enemy and her passive is going off so I'm going to have parts of her slowly fading/going invisible.

    Thanks for the comment! :)

Couple things I notice right off the bat are that some of your proportions are off. Your back leg seems off - it looks too small (too short/skinny) and seems like it may not align with the body correctly (compare how the top of the leg lines up with the bottom off the torso - the leg looks a little too far forward). The right hand may also be a little too small. For a stronger and more interesting silhouette, I would rotate the left hand a little more so it's not disappearing into the arm. The position that it's in creates a confusing and (in my opinion) a weaker silhouette. For stronger aesthetics, I would bring that left hand down or into the body some, exposing a little bit off the forearm to really show that she indeed has a forearm and a hand on that side (even though we know she does) - it will just create a better image in my opinion.

Other than that, I think you're off to a good start. Hope this was useful, good luck!

Thanks for your comment I appreciate it! It's nice to have a fresh pair of eyes to look at it versus myself looking at it for hours. I agree with what your saying and am definitely planning to work on her proportions more.

I did a quick block out in maya of my background. I'm planning to do a paint over. The plan is to also paint over the sunset part of the sky to a night sky.

The plan is to add more over growth a foliage, and rough up the pillars. I've been looking at twisted treeline images for references. I would love to hear peoples thoughts though.

Defiantly rough up those pillars :) Maybe one of them is cut in half/falling down? I would also add something to suggested what she could be running from. There could be some arrows firing towards her, push that sense of danger.

I really like the idea of her slowly turning invisible. :D keep it up!
