Hey guys.
So I started drawing some of my ideas this morning. Digital painting is not my biggest strengh so bear with me here.
I had quite a few turret ideas, but these two were my favorite. I wanted to go for a nature based but overall rather mystic look so I knew needed rocks and shiny objects that would build a nice contrast to the rock scheme. I am also a big fan of floating geometry.
I will most likely go for a similar look for the inhibitor.
nice man. I like the first one more because it has a stronger silhouette. The second one doesn't make use of form changes as well. Really interested in how you solve the negative space between the turret and the floating rune stones.
Hey Greg, thanks a lot for your input. I really appreciate it. You are right about the second one. It is too uniform at this stage. I am tending towards the left one atm. However I might change up the red one a little to adjust a rougher transition.
Hey guys.
I decided to take the gem tower a little further. I really like the rock one I came up with first but noticed that many others here are going for a similar idea/shape. I really like the idea on a somewhat crystal based turred. I adjusted the proportions a little and tried to fix the too smooth transition from base to gem. I am not 100% sure about the chains yet.
I really appreciate any kind of feedback.
I just want to make sure you saw this post with the update to the rules:
Hi everyone,
At Riot Games, we have a very strong feedback culture. We pivot and make adjustments when things can be done better or are not working. In the spirit of this culture and after internal conversations with feedback from the community, we have decided to make some tweaks to the environment section of the contest. You can now choose to create the turret or the inhibitor rather than being required to create both. We want to make sure we are giving everyone enough time to create assets that you are proud of and able to finish in time for the December 19th deadline.
We are also tweaking the animation com petition and not have animators pick an established character since animating a specific character without the exact model will be difficult. We want to see solid animations that are keeping the animation style of LoL in mind when creating these ability assets.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
