Hope you all are doing well i have decided to have a crack at the contest this year and will be giving my 200% to the character Annie love the fact she has a mega evil teddy bear companion anyways heres the character in question:





I want to bring some of that badass nature into the red riding hood skin but i also like the goth school kid outfit.


Ive so far just been working on the head and getting all the proportions correct as im fairly new to character modelling im taking my time to get it right.

Lemme know what you think any feedback would be great

last night was abit of a slow night but i attatched the ears, refined them and did all of the above changes im going to get the hair in hopefully tonight and then i have a feeling i will have to enlarge the eyes somewhat and pull the cheeks out a little bit more

Abit more work on the character i realised that i needed more ref for the shoes to get a feel for the folds and creases so after work tonight is going to be research time and just gather as much as i can for the weekend.

A smallish update been getting in the proportions as best i can and took out the hair and will be going back over that soon when there is the hood

well that's an angry girl ) I think you shouldn't work on small detail like stitches on the shoes, because they won't be visible at the end I think. Keep going!

I agree with Jeebs. A lot of your detail on the lower half of the character is going to be pretty lost. There's no point in overly detailing your character there.

Hey I came across this and though it my help you with her proportions body and face wise. Cause right now she looks like an evil baby, when she is actually a young girl.

I dunno what style you are going for so I'll share two different versions.

Good ref images Skyerzz, I am using the same ones. I think you can really improve if you adjust your proportions to these references.

pretty good reference! I would tone done her body frame right now everything seems too...square? XD It gives the impression of an angry toddler than a small girl\

check her torso in proportion to her legs. she has a very slim thin torso frame with long slim legs.

Started the face again i think its pretty much correct proportions wise but i cant shake the feeling her head is thin not to sure whether this is the size of the eyes making it seem this way tho hopefully will get some good progress this weekend

Try lowering the top of the head. It looks a little to high giving her a large forehead. It should help make it feel less thin as well. It's looking much closer than your first attempt though. Keep it up!

An update on the face i also blocked out the body but its a pretty basic blockout so kinda removed it from the image :P still need to widen the face abit and from a quick photoshop session yesterday raise the chin just a bit should be working on the body stuff tonight

This is starting to look much better! I would still widen the face a bit and also make the ear larger...
