Did some work last night so I may as well start posting. Blocking in the larger parts of armor. Not trying to be 100% accurate, but getting the start of everything in. Staying in Maya for these steps.
Looking good, you have a solid visual hierarchy already. Based on the splash image, you may want to tuck in the edges of the shoulder armor and round out the spikey mass. It has a pretty strong Warhammer vibe right now, which doesn't really exist in the original. Either way, great start, can't wait for more updates!
I think your completely right @jeebs and @CSOConnor. I'm going to do some proportional studies once I get a good foundation going. I'd really like to put my own style into it and exaggerate some stuff and not stick as close to the splash. Mostly just getting my head wrapped around the different forms + pieces
