I run UE4 on an Intel HD 3000 and it almost works well enough to not gouge my eyes out if I turn all the settings down. If you turn settings down to High you should be pulling 60fps on that laptop pretty easily.
I know its already been said over and over, but I have the exact same laptop (have the upper level CPU, secondary 650m, 16gb RAM in mine though), and UE4 is flawless on it. I notice I have plenty of power left over doing most normal tasks, so I am sure you will be in the same boat. y500's are awwwweesssoommmeee. Love my laptop.

I am running it on a slower laptop. Sometimes the fps goes down to 10 , sometimes I have to wait a lot to open a project...but it CAN run it , don't worry about that.
