looks cool, good job on the modeling. the only thing sticking out to me is the windows, they look like they just have a basic shader with no texture work
Yeah the windows are wip, I decided to texture and model all the inside parts of the cabin and engine parts when I have more time thats why I kept them like that until I finish the inside
Cool stuff man. Seems heavy on the edge wear with no scratches in the middles of surfaces?
Needs some unique "hero" scratches/grunge/wear.
Solid work overall though!
I would say your edgewear is too consistent across all convex edges. Give it some variation. There should also be alot more grime, dirt and rust towards the bottom of the dozer than the top, as that's where most of the wear and tear will happen. I would also add rust. Bulldozer's rust pretty heavily especially when they're as old as you seem to be making yours. Not too old that it's covered, but if it were going to gain edgewear like that it would gain some rust in the crevaces. Add some texture information to marry the geometry together better. Anywhere you have one piece of geo shoved into another, I would create some texture information, rust, grime..etc to help tell that story.
Headed in good direction. Just allow yourself to take some polish passes on it and it'll be a great piece.
Here is a new screen of the added dirt and reduced edgewear. I only had very little time today so I only modified the wheels section, it needs more work but how do you see it so far?
I didn't use ddo for the fixes. I used ddo for the general model because I have never used it before so I tried it out to see how it works. Still, after all the work, I prefer the manual way, dDo does some generic stuff that I dont like or maybe its me, dont know hehe
Oh ok I got confused then hehe. Yeah for my next models I will just keep using the traditional way with photoshop, I dont feel quite confortable with dDo to be honest . Thanks alex!
