Anatomy Study W.I.P

Hey Polycounters

i started with a new work to gain some experience in human anatomy and could need some feedback. Im using Michelangelos David as main reference but also some photos of bodybuilders for the details.
Im struggling with the hands at the moment because of the topolgy. I dont know how to remesh the part between the fingers. Maybe you can help me.

The abs jumped out at me right away. I put the original sculpture right beside yours, see how many abs there are?

Pay attention to the angles around the body. Pelvis for example, the original is clearly a V shape while yours is really flat.

This is a really vague critique, but it looks like you're sculpting what you think it looks like, and you need to focus on really observing details as they exist in the ref and objectively comparing them to your model, and sculpting what is actually there. Not a bad start though, keep working it.

Yeah, I usually try to keep all my fingers and toes separated out when I'm doing any dynameshing or remeshing, also play with the resolution some. Once I've got topology I'm happy with, I'll repose how I like and subdivide from there. Since you're sculpting a statue that was originally carved from a solid piece, having bits kinda fused together like that shouldn't hurt too much in the long run.
