So I thought I would finish this off with it's own thread, not 100% happy with it, but happy about finally finishing a competition, I think it's a first actually
rendered in Marmoset 2, and textures partly created in Ddo
well go vote on your favorites, a lot of good art in this challenge
Really like the design, Great modeling and clean shapes. Something is bothering me about the materials/textures though. Maybe not quite enough contrast? Or maybe it's that there's a lot of high gloss pieces for what feels like would be a more rough and weathered war machine? I dunno. I can't quite put my finger on it. But overall it looks great! Very masterfully crafted.
yeah I had some problems deciding on that, in the end I thought it felt quite good, but the contrast in the image itself doesn't feel that good, I thought it looked good at home, but when I looked at it on my work computer it looked very white and washed out, maybe I'll get back to it, thanks for the feedback

haha I saw it at my work too! Now that I'm home on my color calibrated monitor, it looks way better.
The funny part is that I remember watching a retrospective interview on blizzard where they said that the entire reason they chose to go with such bright colors was because of monitors being such crap. So they made the contrast and saturation pop like crazy to counteract what most people would be playing on so it would be super visible.

not saying it looks perfect on any monitor though, just it looked nice at home, and at work it looked like crap.
