Thanks man. I was not sure if we can use other lions or it has to be the one from here . So I just used the one they provided as an alpha, dragged it as a mask, inverted it and sculpted a bit on top of it
Thanks Pior I added some more surface details wanted to make it look like it was really made by a hammer but perhaps it is still too subtle- I hope it will show up on the texture
Moving onto the LP now.
Thanks again guys
Low poly done and I just need to pack to uvs. Sitting at 950 tris.
I have never used UDK before so what should be the best way to bake this? I usually bake in Max. Handplane has been recommended few times here - would it work for this kind of job- never used that either so far.
Yup, I can confirm that Handplane works perfectly and provides proper UDK-compatible tangent-space normals, artifact-free. The way it works is as follows :
-Generate an Object-Space map with the baking tool of your choice.
-Load the lowpoly and the OS map in Handplane, select the "Unreal3" option,
-Press Render - an Unreal-compatible TS map will be generated, calculated especially for the needs of the engine.
Thanks man I am huge fan of your dota 2 work
I could have pushed this a bit more but I dont have more time Had some problems with the scale of the helmet when trying to place it on the character so I lost a lot of time trying to fix that. Not happy with the textures but this is all I have for now.
I hope we can make more items for Chivalry after the contest is over
This is the first time I actually finish one of those contests Amazing entries so far you guys rock. Also thanks to all the people helping other members and pushing each other to achive better art
