Supsies everyone, I'm a third year uni student based in Australia currently studying Graphic Design. I will eventually undertake the huge process of learning how to 3D model, but in the mean time, I'm totally OK with focusing purely on concepts. Essentially I want to stream-line my initial ideas and get them out there.
Overall I prefer to focus on creating whole sets rather then one-off items for heroes, I think it allows for a stronger visual narrative that results in greater workshop sets.
I also like to try and take my designs as far as i can without (hopefully) breaking the design rules enforced down by Valve. Which is to say many of my designs may be be are overly ambitious, or require significant tweaking which i'll be more then happy to discuss when the time comes.
I'm very excited to start working with you all.
When I've finalized my concepts i'll be open for collaboration.
Those are some great concepts! I really like them
But as you mentioned there could be quite a few issues with them due to animations (poor spirit cow slammed onto the ground during the clap XD ), so custom animations would be a must. And I'm not quite sure where will he get the alcohol for his other abilities. "Drunken brawler" is his main design and taking it away is kind of impossible.
I would also avoid any long hair/beard on ember as his head has very drastic positions when animated which will unavoidably cause clipping.
Supsies guys, just developed the spirit animal further, i traced his shape over the size of brews barrel so he is proportionate. I'm gonna map out some concepts for how his animation could play out.
Really like that Earth Spirit and Lion concept! I'm a bit scared that the earth spirit concept won't be able to be accomplished with the budget he has though. Especially his head might be a problem
Welp. That's my bad then, I was fiddling with the model in the source model viewer and his head was separate from his body, i just assumed it was a separate thing.
Yeah that happens to the best of us, lol. I mean it still might be possible to make the head, you might just not be able to have those locks going down on the chest! And even that can be possible with the right modeller, haha!

That sounds perfect.
maybe hes kissing it? haha.
I love this idea, it could make like a hilarious sound when he thunder claps. like the screaming goat sound. Its ridiculous but i still like it.
I'll work on it more after i've fleshed out all my other concepts
I'm gonna update and refine the OP to make it more appealing, but in the mean time i'll just dump all the WIP's I'm juggling.
and a cheeky 'lil lion concept.
Oh and the start of a bomber fighter style techies.
Scribbled down a Gothic inspired Lycan set for your consideration.
I picture it as a rickety converted bomb that doesn't fly, rather has wheels with leg holes for Spleen to run it around Flintstones style.
