So I saw on steam that people have added the tag metroidvania to the game, and I think that's gonna do you a disservice as people are gonna judge the game on merits it might not even have or never was intended to have.

And which merits do you mean?

Ori is a metroidvania title with a bigger focus on level traversal.
It has a big seamless open world which you only move in freely if you have all the needed abilities/skills/powerups.

@coots7: yes you can play with keyboard and mouse, but as with any of those games, i suggest using a controller. As i would suggest playing a fps game with mouse and keyboard - but that might be just me. Halo showed it can workwith controller

Just played for a few hours. This game is awesome, I love Metroidvanias and this definitely scratches that itch big time.

And the art looks amazing, especially that intro, wow.

So I've finished the game, and it was an amazing experience. It's a clear contender for GOTY.

• Soundtrack is amazing, it fits perfectly with the art style and none of the tracks sounds out of place.
• Graphics/Art Style are gorgeous, there really is nothing to complain about here, except that the foreground sometimes gets in the way
• Story is good and does the job. It's mostly told trough the environment and the characters with the narrator doing the rest. Which is how I think stories in games should be done . The narrator is a 10/10.
• Gameplay is tight and as responsive as you could ask for. The abilities are extremely fun to play with and execute and it works perfectly to play with mouse and keyboard, there are a couple of hiccups here and there where the game doesn't do what you expected it to do. But it's nothing major that ruins the game in anyway.

I found two negative things with the game, the first one could get patched out and is the biggest one. Being that once you've beaten the game you can't access your file anymore. So you can't get any of the statistics. The second one is a bit of a spoiler, but if you attempt to do 100%

you get locked out of 3 areas once you've completed them, which is really annoying. Mostly because near the end I was gonna go and collect everything I had missed or couldn't reach, but noticed that the first "temple" had 99%.

But beyond that I didn't really find any major flaw with the game.

It's a clear must buy, whether you like platformers, metroidvanias or action games in general. BUY IT!

Okay played it now for about 3 hours. Awesome, just awesome. Soundtrack, visuals and gameplay is super fun. Almost burned my food because I just wanted to get into this one more not discovered area... and another one
