First pass on color work. I'm thinking I need to inject some more color, maybe a green gradient. Also the blood may benefit from being less spotty to make it read better from distance.
Thanks for the comment. I'm a little worried about it being too violent myself. I figure some ways to tone it down might be to remove the eye arrow, and possibly the tip of the spear in the stomach. I'm not sure how, or if the back should be toned down also. It's a tricky one, given how much blood is in his base model.
On another note, does anyone know how to submit a low violence version ( ie. grey blood, no skulls) to the workshop? Is it something valve will ask for, or should it be submitted along with the full version?
Putting Luna mount texturing ( about 75% complete ) on hold for a short while to update the Pudge Warpath set with an alternative hook weapon, and changes to the left arm and belly ( removed the skull and exposed bone, removed spear tip in belly) to make the set fit better with the Chinese restrictions on violence/bones/skulls etc.
After the disaster that was updating Pudge during the workshop update (lost heaps on positive vote %, doh! ) , I'm back to work on Luna again.
A good break from the set has made me rethink a few things. I've remade the helmet, shoulders, shield and thrown out half the painting on the cat! lolz
Hey man, I'm really liking that storm spirit set so far! I feel like there may be too many different cloth patterns and colors though... for example on the hat and belt, if those were just blue like they were, the set would look a lot less cluttered, and would probably read a lot better in game.
I would honestly suggest you to go back to the more basic colors you had before. The new one is too noisy in my opinion, and doesn't really seem to have a sense of direction.
Looks pretty nice from that view! A minor suggestion: try to get the decorative golden curls on the fabrics a bit more dynamic with varying thickness or if you like the constant thickness, then get a cleaner flow. They look a bit rushed now.
Keep it up!
Thanks for all the great comments! @yakonusuke. I'll be doing a quick polishing pass on everything tomorrow, so I'll take a look at the curves also. @Vovosunt. OMG SPARKLY JAKE!! OMG OMG
Finally ingame. Mask's to go! Skinning was a bit tricky and there are still a few minor issues to sort out. Boy Valve really make things difficult with the legs/root/spine01 all counter rotated in different directions...
Lol, been a while since I've updated my thread!. I missed out on finishing my LC set for the polycount comp, but i'm still keen to finish up soon.
Making some changes, did a quick paint over to get an idea of what I'm thinking should alter. I need to redo the bracers so I have room to add some sort of legs armor to share the arms slot.
looking great toasty, i wonder what happen to the original back head plate though ? to me that one has very interesting surface detail and with the proper masks, it would looks pretty awesome with the in-game lighting imo, just wondering what are the reasons behind the changes. Awesome work anyway, looking forward to see this fully finished !

I am thinking at this stage to use the red as the primary and the black as an alternate colour on the workshop
Keep it up!

Eternal Princess Set on workshop now
also why dress naga with red instead of blue XD
not really necessary to be red to bring oriental theme, well naga can be blue or maybe yellow that comes from her skin pallet?
Dry... wet ..... WTF are u talking about !
