I am working on this water tower for my portfolio project. How do you deal with plane repetitive wood planks texture? To end this small project i am going o make normal map. All textures are made by myself. I want to learn to create an illusion of depth using only diffuse. Am I making it right? If it would be a freelance paid job, would I get paid for this?

I would say the texture needs a bit more contrast, mainly the roofing. It looks extremely flat and quite faded.
I don't have much experience with hand painted wood so I won't say much.
Regarding the edges of the mesh, they are very sharp, but I suppose you are going to fix that with the eventual normal map.
Last nitpicks:
1: the plank of wood in the center should be lying on top of the wooden platform instead of going into the stone.
2: regarding the center, the wood suddenly becomes a brown stone. There should be some sort of transition from wood to stone.
3: the steps leading up to the platform shouldn't intersect like that. At the very least the texture should have some sort of edge or crevice to make it look as though they are placed there.
4: The cracks you placed in the mesh above the steps are lost because of the texture. Adding in some lighting / shading detail to that area of the texture will help reveal the work you put into there.
