Hey everyone, I'm working on a passion project/Resume Project to improve my skills. I've finished a blockout and just threw a texture on everything to see it with all it's lighting. But at this point.. I'm not sure where to go, what props do i add? is there something missing? should i make trimming and add stuff?

I know i want more piping, metalwork holding the pipes, Metal Bars at the end of the hall, fencing somewhere to make the space look "regulated".

But i just don't know where to go from here texture wise or architecturally. I'd really love some C & C

Also! The concept was more of a starting point for imagination and less of a blueprint for the design itself.

Thank you for any feedback given! I'm really looking to improve :)

I think the biggest problem you have is that the concept doesn't have any good information in it to make a successful scene with. You said it was just a starting point and not a blue print, but the same problems in the concept are the same problems you have with the scene. If you didn't tell me you were making a prison I would have no idea to be honest. As for what to do next look at real world reference to make your level read better and be more grounded.

Example of a real world only prison:

What is going on with the red? It is very hard to see anything in the screens

Yeah the red on the side of the screen is awful, red instantly draws people's eyes more than any other color, it's a waste to have it on the edge of the screen with nothing to look at.

One of the things that makes prisons less interesting environments is that they are usually large, open spaces. This helps gameplay in a great way and you can populate it with overturned tables and whatnot to create a combat area. However what makes Bardler's image more interesting is that it's a narrow hallway with cells facing windows. That affords you much more atmosphere to play with an environment artist. Not to mention those dilapidated walls look great.

I agree with the Red light, I think it disturbs the eye of viewer and the scene is a bit too dark(unless you wanted it that way), but with more light you could show more details and the scene will be much better ;D. I like where the scene is going, keep working :P
