I'm new here, so I want to say HELLO to all first
I'm writing here because I want to learn something in game art and I decided to do simple Medival Sword for start and I think that this contest
is a good occasion for this.
So I modeled sword and do some simple diffuse and specular maps in PS and I don't know what I could do now to look it better. I should do a high poly version and bake maps or do it by hand in PS.
Please help me and give some advices. I work in 3dsMax and Photoshop.

Hey man, welcome to the contest. First off I would say post as many updates as you can as you work. It will help you in the long run because the community will be able to give you more feedback so you can make the best piece possible.
You're sword is pretty basic, which isn't a bad thing. I think it would fit nicely in the game. If you decide to do any other weapons, I would recommend trying to go a little bit more ornate or something with more character simply to push your skills further. Ok. Thanks 9th Knight for reply. I decide to change my sword to make it more detailed and add some ornate. I change the shape too. I'm still working on it so soon I'll be writing again. What do you think now? Going in the right direction?
Yeah, differently a better shape and adding the details helps. I would assume you're not done texturing yet but I would work on that leather a bit more.
I would work on that spec a bit more. a bit shinier. You'll have to get it in the editor and tweak around with their environment spec settings. It will translate a bit differently in UDK.
