Hi. This is the first time im posting on Polycount so I'm sorry if this is not the right place
I'm currently trying to create a Dota 2 set and I was wondering if it was okay to delete faces from the original mesh in order to save polygons because one of my item is overlapping the character's face. I dont know if I am being clear? English is not my first language

I'm afraid you can't, because the items are not supposed to be modifications ot the original mesh, but rather extensions. They'll be applied over the base model in the client, so the deleted polygons won't transfer over. Sorry.
So if I take Enchantress by example and I want to make her ears bigger, I need to create new ones separated from the original mesh and put them into, lets say, the helm?
