I really like the body so far but the face feels a bit masculine. Her entire face feels really square right now, you definitely want to add more angles. The facial plane of the mid face looks pretty ambiguous-- it wouldn't hurt to emphasize it a bit more. The facial plane of the midface originates on the zygomatic bone and meets at the orbicularis oris--you can pretty much use the zygomaticus major as an indicator for where the facial plane ends. Also be careful when referencing pictures with excessive photoshopping, make up, or expression unless you have a solid understanding of human anatomy--they can throw you off.

This is closer to the look you are going for--hopefully it'll help:

    Good luck!

Her fingers are a bit off; the pinky appears broken in the minidress image.

The geometry of her upper arms - especially near the armpits and the shoulders. Part of the problem might be the pose; the pose for both the minidress and the shorts feels forced and artificial. I'd recommend a new, more natural pose for each.

Her elbows in the romper outfit are too close together; they should be no closer to the body than her shoulders.

Her breasts seem to hang a bit low, at least for her apparent age & size. I'd also expect a more natural slope between her chest & the breasts.

Her upper lip is strangely segmented; there are three distinct sections. (Yes, I know one of your references has that same look, but it's a very unusual shape; it appears that her lip is 'caught' on the surface of those two front teeth.)

not dead .. just a bit slow :D

clusterone : thank you very much. really appreciate your input .. that is an awesome reference BTW
yeah it did confuse me having a lot of references .. its because this started as a fun practice ... and then i wanted to take it further and try to finish it .
i try learning anatomy .. but its really is a lot to memorize .. i think what would help me is doing as everyone else ( starting a character from scratch . bone by bone and muscle by muscle )

dwalker : thank you for the input .. apologies for my lazy posing .. i just didnt bother posing her arms properly ..
i did raise the breasts a little .
also closed the mouth a little . looking better now ?

    progress :

have been working on this little fellow here for the past month
would love some feedback on him .

note : again with my nasty habit of starting with no concept . and i shape it as i go .. so apologies as i dont have a a concept to show
if needed i will put together a picture containing some of the ( loads of refs )
i prefer not to so i can know what are your first impressions on this picture . or what can u read from it .

also here is a paint over of my planning on what to add :
stick ( staff ) - a cobra snake - some accesories - maybe redo the hair as it is not well optimized ( currently 100k for hair only :poly136: )
