Hello all,
I've recently started working on a 3D diorama for my portfolio. I believe I need to improve on my skills and learn some new things, plus my portfolio needs updating.
So I thought I'd make a Japanese garden diorama, with a bell tower at the top of the hill surrounded by water. Also I decided to use the koi bridge from my portfolio for the fun of it, I've always wanted to see it in an environment and fits perfect with this project.
With this I'd like to try something new, I've heard a lot of good things about dDo and Substance designer, never used either of them before and would really like to give one of them a try.
At the moment I'm on the modelling stage and will try my best to post my WIP daily.
Feedback, tips and criticism is welcome.

This is looking like a fun project, going to be watching
I like the controls you have on the turnaround
I have jumped back in and got some assets done for my scene, also got it into Unity to see how it all fits in. Just threw a texture on for the terrain because I couldn't stand looking at a grey ground lol.
Looking good so far, will save all the texturing for last, for now just want to get all the assets modeled and sculpted.
Feedback and criticism is welcome on this, will post some more WIP soon
In the first image, the bridge looks like it's not a smooth, continuous curve, but it'd take a profile shot to be certain. It's also missing the railing.
The rocks feel a bit forced, especially those on the back of the island. Perhaps you could remove them and just have a vertical cliff face back there.
