ty , here is the sculpt atm , not really know how much detail should I do for it , but I will try a bake and texture it as a test, then just add some stufs if needed
You have some really cool shapes, but they sort of feel like they're kinda glued together... They don't 'come together'. The crest/plume and the backplate of the helmet feel like they just float there. Add some straps, rivets, or more solid evidence that everything is connected together, and let it make sense in a protective kind of way. Hope that helps.
Really good model!! To address the floating parts issue. I would not be to critical about it. Those can be connected in many ways underneath, especially collar/neck armor can be just snapped with some kind of hooks or straps on the other side.
Looking forward for more
I think I see what Zetheros means about the connecting of parts - we might need to add some simple bolts, indeed. Also some of the plates might be a little too thick at the moment, but I suppose this can be adjusted quite easily (before or after the bake, actually).
update on the sculpt , I will make the protective plate on the back thinner on the low poly version as its curently fucking it up when trying to thinn it :
Oh damn its sweet. Last progress impressed me the most. Helmet look beautiful with textures. Realistic and believable. Looking forward to see that baby in game!
For this one in particular I was orignally thinking of Elite Spangenhelm because of the ornaments, but since the back plate is such a distinctive feature, maybe something like Plated Spangenhelm ?
those helmets look great! Nice concepts, a shame they won't all be modded in :P
However, I did notice some strange naming you gave the helmets. the strangest were:
a spangenhelm was a conical helmet formed of several plates banded otgether with a 'framework' of metal strips
the gold bit are the strips, the plates in between are not connected- they are separate plates.
A bascinet can be any kind of helmet, but always had a pointed top (most commonly known from the pig-face or hounskull helmet). Visor or any extra bits don't matter, if it's got a pointed top it's a bascinet.
Hope you learned something today, sorry for my rant ^-^

I had some stuff to do on the dota 2 workshop side of things, but I had the time to make the base mesh for sculpting .
I saw that the helm can jump of his head , so I gotta sculpt the interior part aswell
Looking forward for more
