Rock issue

Hey all,
I didn't really know what title to use to express my problem, sorry about that.

I saw this approach on another thread (cheers to the author whom I forgot the username).

And I gave it a try, the problem however, is I don't know how to get that tight spacing between my rocks. I remember the author of that image said he only used dam standard to carve the guide lines and used hpolish to form the rocks you see in his third image.

I'm new to this, tips would be welcome.
Thank you.

Hi, it's just a suggestion. But sometimes I turn on the double sided feature in tool>display, then isolate the surface I want to work on and work on my cracks from the inside with an inflate or a pinch brush depending on what I want to achieve. I think sculpting from the inside of a model could be useful in this kind of situation. (I don't remember if it has an impact but if it doesn't work check that the backface masking feature is off)

not really sure what you want to create, but it would be way easier just making one rock, and duplicate that one to make the formation, dynamesh them together and then make variations and details, and you wouldnt have the spacing problem

He have too much space in those cracks. Pinch brush will demolish your topology.

You can use Dynamesh with Pinch Brush.

OR you can just add there volume. Like use Clay brush to build there more volume, then TrimSmoothBorder Or TrimDynamic, to polish it.
