Hey guys,
I am trying to learn the Quixel suite and am getting stuck early on. The problem is that my mesh doesn't seem to receive any of DDO's input. I have tried multiple meshes. Here is exactly what I do.
1. Create mesh in Maya. Layout UVs. Triangulate. Export OBJ with all options (including normals) turned on.
2. Open photoshop, then DDO
3. Load OBJ into mesh slot; load ID map. Link template materials to IDs.
4. Click Create
5. Wait for the maps to be generated
6. Open 3DO, expecting to see my mesh.
7. Default sphere shows up in 3D0
8. However, from DDO, I can go Options>Reimport Mesh...
9. NOW my mesh shows up in 3DO.
10. But it is not using the materials I assigned to IDs. Additionally, when I try to make changes to any of the maps, those changes are never reflected on this mesh. Clicking Save All Maps or Refresh does not work either.
Maya 2015, Photoshop CS4, Quixel Suite 1.3 (downloaded open beta, now in Free Trial mode)
I feel like either something is broken/incompatible here or I am screwing up one of the early fundamental steps. Any help is appreciated. I can attach one of my OBJs if it helps.
Thanks in advance..

Just to narrow down your issues!
I saved my own obj onto the desktop and it loaded fine. Turns out that the problem was that it doesn't like loading from a NAS!
At least, this is the case for the corporate NAS I happen to be on.
