This post is for the position of 3D Artist working in a gaming and simulations focused organization within the U.S. Army.
The position is a one year contract with the possibility of an additional option year. The position is located in Newport News, VA and is onsite only.
Job Description:
You will be a 3D modeler working within the gaming and simulations directorate at the Training Brain Operations Center (TBOC). Were a small team and youll be required to wear many hats. Youll be given ownership of projects and be expected to take them from concept to completion for use in a real-time gaming engine, such as VBS3 or Unity.
Responsibilities:
Modeling, texturing, rigging and animating assets including props, vehicles, weapons, environments, and characters in a current gen pipeline.
Creating realistic artwork from reference.
Working with the team to ensure that artwork is cohesive and matches the standard set forth by the art director.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in an art, design, or CGI related field of study
- 2 years experience working as part of a team to create 3d models, textures, and materials for a modern game engine (Unity, Unreal, CryEngine, VBS, ARMA, etc)
- Advanced knowledge of industry standard software applications such as Photoshop and 3DS Max
- The ability to properly gauge and hit deadlines
- The ability to work well within a team and be proactive when learning new pipeline techniques
- A portfolio displaying previously completed work
- The ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
- If you cannot obtain a security clearance you will not be considered for the job
Pluses:
- ZBrush and/or hard edge modeling experience
- Quixel Suite experience
- Normal, spec and gloss map creation knowledge
- Experience creating models for use in VBS2, VBS3, ARMA 1, 2, or 3
