ahh i see, thx for clearing that up. Probably makes more sense too have this for the agatha side then. Played the game quite some hours but that never occured to me, guess was to focused on smashing those heads in
Welcome to the competition.
I randomly saw this image today and when I saw this thread I thought you might be inspired by it.
Not sure how much real use you will have of it. But it looked cool haha
Dude, if torn banner let me wear a serpent guard helm from stargate I would flip out. Love the designs in there, and the show.. Pretty far fetched though for Chivalry though I think. haha.
looks great! only thing is that the sword just isn't a zweihander.
you see, many people think a zweihander is just a big sword it isn't. if you grab a random sword and enlarge it, you won't get a zweihander. what about the ricasso, the double crossguard, longer blade in comparison to the hilt, heavyer pommel?
Think about these things! it will make your work seem much more realistic!
Thanks a ton for pointing out the things that were wrong with the sword. did not even realize that something like a ricasso exists .
Tried to adjust the proportions, also the pommel got smaller, when looking at references it actually is not that big for those swords. Guess the overall mass of the handle and crossguard is enough to balance it out.
My favourite is the middle on, the blade is probably not very realistic but i think it just look nice.
Also high and lowpoly for the helmet with a first texture pass.
Looking good. I really like all the blade designs. The last one sticks out to me being like a very large kris, which is cool. But I think the first would be my first choice if you were going with something a little more realistic. Don't let that stop you though, get creative
Thanks JO420 and 9thknight. Last blade is actually copy pasted from a ispanic zweihander, some pretty crazy designs they had going on in the medieval times .
Got the stuff into the engine thanks to the tutorials . Probably going to make the breathing holes/swirls a bit larger make them extend more around the helmet. Some more texture polishing and Blood Mask and calling this a day.
Calling it done!
unless you spot anything awkward. Maybe the whole thing is awkward but not much i can do about that (except make another hopefully better item).
Hello, after receiving feedback from the workshop that the helmet is not quite up to par with the quality/look of the sword decided to work on it further.
So here is a overpaint what i want to change.
Will get rid of a lot of the yellow parts, split it up in more plates with bolts connecting them. Tried to incorporate some of the swords design to tie it together ,especially for the backside of the helmet. Also incorporated the agathian cross and some smaller crosses for the breathing holes (that might change tho not totally satisfied with those yet).
Got the changes done. Think the texture turned out much better this time, less noisy and the metals seperate better. Thanks to the one who mentioned that pressing L is for moving the light. Much easier to present the specular this way.
Undeniably better. Nice job.
The only way I would like it more is if I wasn't competing against you in the same category haha :poly124:
Well done, and good luck.
Thanks guys glad the extra work was not for nothing .
Just posted in final submission thread. Also was able to update the workshop item whithout having to delete it. Maybe it would have worked in the first place and there was something wrong on my end.

Tried to make things a bit shinier too, think it looks a bit better now.

Now off to redoing all the presentation material.
