Hi everyone, gonna try this competition out since I played alot of chivalry last year. I'll be doing a Mason knight set and will be replacing the two-handed weapon, the bearded axe.
Here are my initial sketch for the weapon and helm. Thanks!
Here is a Sub-D model of the axe in max. I still have to think of the name for this set but maybe I'll wait once I have the initial sketch of the helm.
I decided to change the face guard on the helm since it felt like it didn't suit the style I was looking for. So here is a new sketch and will probably add the fin from the original helmet.
Thanks fellas! Mr Flopsie: appreciate the feedback!
Here's some minor changes so the fin and the fin's base could slide along when the face guard is lifted open. The fin's base is not welded to the helmet anymore but instead will rest on top.
man, I wish I could see these pics. I'm in China and have to use an SSH tunnel, but polycount doesn't seem to allow people to use irregular IP addresses. I can access this page, but the images are blocked because I don't have my proxy enabled.
Both items look nice. I would prefer the helmet with a smaller "fin" in the top though... elegance in simplicity. That giant chunk of metal up there would be pretty top-heavy.
Also, why are there two "mason knight judgement sets" here? lol
Little streaks of blood in the top of the handle looks a bit weird tho. (top version)
and the leather looks a bit shiny, the wear is a bit gradual/even as well.
This is just fantastic. One of my favorites for sure. Is there an easy way to get the items into a "Game" ? or is this just you opening a map, dropping a character in, hitting an animation and popping them into the sockets?

Here is the block-out of the Knight's helm.

Here is the finished axe along with the helmet.
Here is another update: Lo-poly, UV, and bake done.
Helmet sitting at 1200tris
Axe is at 2500tris

Started the texture and Unreal engine implementation. Might shift the colors around later but for now will settle with this.
Here is an update axe. Gold trims weren't matching on the last one.

bounchfx: What you described is pretty much how I did them.
9thKnight: Thanks! GJ also on finishing.
