Gotta start somewhere,
I am going to be passively blocking out a helm and heavy crossbow tonight. The challenges I see after playing the game for a bit is crafting an asset that is compelling but also ties into the largely utilitarian theme of the main game (for the period). Most of the weapons and armor I've seen don't have very much extravagance, even on higher level players.

There is more to it but I just wanted to get something out. The hardest part is starting.
There is also a game mechanic in Medieval Warfare with helm's being knocked off. A strap wouldn't make much sense in that case, I haven't seen any yet.
This is a reproduction I did a few months back as practice. (Marmoset toolbag)
Filippo Negroli repousse piece (it's in the Met I think)
That's how I plan on doing the detail on the helm in the end with mostly normal map work.
[Edit]
Thanks for the feedback. I'll probably moving the neck guard up the helm a bit, I'll mess around with how it looks. It's also hard to stick to the themes of the technology of the day without hitting the parade helmets of 17th century.
