Hey guys, I havn't posted here in ages. But I havn't been slacking, I'm working on personal pieces everyday, and because of that I have landed my first short remote contract which feels good 
. So between that and working my regular 9-5 I am still trying to push my portfolio, so I will be posting much more here..

Other than fixing the material issue, it looks like a solid barrel to me - a nice normal bake with dirt and grime in the appropriate places.

I really like what you have so far.
just some advice.
Could you clarify what were seeing in each of you WIP updates?
like 1st pass texture on barrels or crates. 1st pass block out of prop.
It would help us give you better feedback
The paint on the oil barrel still doesn't quite look like paint to me. Maybe it needs brightening up to differentiate it from the non painted parts
The modelling on the crate is solid but like the barrel it looks a little dull. Could also just be your lighting setup. The dirt layer you have on the texture looks a little low rez as well. Making the whole texture look a tad low rez.
Hope I could help and you find that critique useful. Blockout and modelling are solid!

heres another update, its the first texture pass on the tall whie building (idk what its called- if anyone could tell me what they are called would be great for sourcing referance.)

The update to the barrel is really good. Could use some chipped paint
I agree. It feels like it is made like this intentionally, and not broken, for the reasons the absolutely almighty gir states
