I. LOVE. CHIVALRY... so I'm pretty damn excited for this contest. I almost always play as the Mason Knight with a Messer and Morning Star or Kite Shield so that is the set I want to focus on. I may also do a Bearded Axe.
I really like dark armor because it feels like Mason and adding ornate details would not only help to strike fear into the hearts of Agathians on the field, but also make it fit to be worn by Malric himself.
I'm still working on the concept but here is my Ref sheets so far:

I'm still deciding on elements as I go which unfortunately means I'm moving slower than I'd like. Most of the details will be small embossed or etched trim. On the back, however, I want to do a pictorial scene of the eagle tearing a lions head off the body with knights to either side kneeing. Sort of like the Greek helmets but with 1500's style imagery.
Anyway, here is my WIP. Crits welcome!
Minor critique though, the fist looks a bit like a babies fist. Which for me is sort of killing the tough factor. Could be personal taste though.

I agree about the baby fists lol. I tried to toughen them up a little but I don't want to go too far from the mason fist look. I'm still working on the back and top so hopefully the fists wont feel out of place once the other bigger details go on.... man, I need to get moving on this...
Here is where I'm leaving the high while I work on the low poly. I'll come back to add scratches after I figure out the UV layout.
And here is a real quick idea I'm thinking about for the messer. I don't want to go too far from the original shape. Just pretty it up a bit.

Here is an update with a simpler shape. Changing the pommel to an eagle claw instead. I still wanna try to have the grip be a wrapped white thread like in the ref collage. But it may change once I'm modeling.

So here is my all'antica style helm textured and ready for battle. All crits are welcome. I'll probably come back to tweak the textures once the messer is done (the one used for these shots are not mine). On to the Sword!

WIP- Here is the High poly and the bakes. Started adding color but I have quite a lot of texturing to do.
I might be wrong but it looks like the sword needs to be rotated 180° In his hands.

Maybe I'm just using the wrong anim set? 3p_longsword [125]. Or it's supposed to be that way... Any thoughts?

The knights hands are right beside each other (hence why I mentioned it looked funny/wrong). Try flipping through all of the animsets until you find one that is similar to the video.
@ParadoxTLH- As it turns out, there are 1st person and 3rd person animations. that vid shows the 1st person view which does have the hands together. But in most of the 3rd person animations, they are wider apart. see below.
SO I think I have the majority of the weapon textures done. Now I need a Blood mask and to go back to the helm and match the gold and black metals.
Glad you figured out the animations.
Maybe consider brightening up the gold on the blade. Right now it's getting lost a bit.

Alright, I tweaked the textures some more and added a blood mask! I think I'm getting close to calling it done. Any last thoughts?
