Hello all, we launched a 3D model search engine, which finds 3D models on the Internet with simple keyword search. The models can be previewed right on your browser without any plugins! (Chrome and Firefox recommended).
yea it seems from alot of various sites, and they provide the original source,
the site seems just a hub to get a untextured faceted preview of the source site.
* edit, holy smokes batman thats a lot of stuff ...
How do you get them all native in your own 3d previewer and all having the same background ? How is this possible ?
Wouldnt you need access to all the 3d models obj/fbx formats ?
But without smoothing groups and no textures in preview is making search incredibly more difficult however, is that a limitation or artistic choice to have all white?
Your splash page looks really nice, but you really should add atleast some
kind of text what the site is intended for.
"Welcome at Yobi, the place for X"
cool idea, there are loads of really bad models, maybe they should implement a rating system so that good quality stuff comes up first. Not sure who would need this website though? concept artists wanting to bash some parts together maybe?
We received some requests to add filter to the search results. It is now available on the website. On the search result screen, there's triangle next to the search box. Click on the button, you'll see a list of filter you can choose from, e.g. file type, vertices, polygons count.
Where are these models getting searched from? Are they from specific sites?
They're file scraping basically.. a pretty shitty practice upon which to build a business.
@Yobi3D: as a registered Inc.(?) dealing with Copyright material, not providing an obvious means for content authors, whose material you're using, to have work removed from the site bar sending in emails, is a pretty big red flag.
@everyone else: Apologies for the nekrobump just came across this site today and found a shit tonne of my files on it.

That is pretty slick how models are pulled from all the sites like that.
I checked if there would be some illegal models on there, like my Dozer; it's not, so that's good
*no results*
^^THIS
Holy frikkin guacamole. Even knowing before-hand that these are free it didn't prepare me for how many horrible models there would be.
Quick 5-star rating system or something would be nice, so the garbage could go away and stop cluttering up the results.
No penis tanks tho, penis car yes. Lots of ripped models from games.
