Hi all, So a few of us environment guys at work wanted to do something a bit different. So we decided to throw down a Civil War thread and get cranking on some portfolio art for fun and glory.
We wanted to do something a bit different so... we're doing characters! There is no theme so we'll be doing, the only goal is to finish!
-- Cybrinsanity will be doing DarkSeid from the dc comics universe.
-- orangefugu is more manly then the rest of us and has decided to tackle creating a character/creature design from scratch.
-- I'm going to be creating one of my favorite old-school Warcraft characters: Illidan Stormrage.
PICTURES TO COME SOON!

I know it looks a bit all over the place, but each one is picked for something different. I'd like to try to aim for the realistic yet simple and readable materials that Pixar does so well, but with more of a blizzard/Wei Wang gritty style applied to surface details.
But this is quite fun as well! Gonna keep tabs on this
Oh well. Guess this isn't too bad.
Subb :P
Ps. There'd better be some boobs in this thread. Looking directly at orangefugu.
I think I'm almost ready to move into 3d. The last thing I want to flesh out a bit more before moving to 3d are the wings.
I've been working on design iterations, spending about 15 minutes per iteration on top of the original base. I'm trying to be as fast and loose as I can with these to keep the ideas flowing. It's challenging to find a middle ground between changing so much that it isn't really illidan anymore and staying true to the original character while trying to infuse him with a more modern cosmetic update. But it's been really fun so far! (I've choosen the ones that I felt best hit the mark out of my sketches so far to post)
After beeing sick for almost 3 weeks in a row... I got better enough to stop going to bed immediately after getting home from work :poly127:. So I started into 3d on monday. There are a few design things I want to play with before moving onto the next stage, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. Feedback is always welcome and appreciated!.
I spent a few more hours fleshing out some minor details and leg anatomy.
