Hey everyone. I built a home rig a little while back (few months) and bought some of the same specs I had on my computer when I was at EA. I thought I had a GTX 770 but i can't get viewport 2.0 working at home. I am almost positive it was a 770. Has anyone bought a GTX770 and had viewport2.0 working for them?
I know it's not a supported maya2.0 card but I have read people making some cards that aren't supported work with it.
I'm using maya 2011 with an 64bit system and 32gigs of ram. Windows 7 professional

I remember having a problem with the first version that had Viewport 2.0 with a GTX 560ti. Everything would be smooth and then after adding one more map, the frame rate would suddenly drop to about 2fps.
[edit] can *not run vp2.0 in maya 2011 I mean [/edit]
I'm thinking to buy one of these gpu but not sure if it will be enough for my modeling purposes.
Actually I just opened it up right now. Without texture maps applied, I'm running at 200fps.
I do not trust maya FPS, it has never been accurate from my understanding and have been able to repro obviously broken FPS (when playing an animation the FPS readout would jump up to like 500, and then drop down to a solid 7fps but still be a smooth display when rotating/editing geo). While using other on screen FPS overlays I was able to get a much more accurate, and believable, readout.
EDIT: This is with my 4GB 770.
Regardless, I do think that 2015 VP2 is leaps and bounds ahead of the older VPs.
Thanks for the numbers.
With my current setup at 500k selecting and editing becomes nightmare. Huh
