Can someone point me int he direction of a good portfolio template or service?
I'm looking for something...
- Free/Cheap
- Simple design
- mobile friendly
- Not a "blog" and instead a gallery style approach where thumbnail leads to hi-res
- Can display large images 1280x720-1920x1080
- Make my resume easy to view and/or download

OR .... you can just use ArtStation or DrawCrowd instead.
Wordpress also has alot of templates.

Here's an article by Jessica Dinh explaining how she set up her portfolio, I used it as guidelines to setting up mine:

This is the link to her portfolio: http://jessicadinh.blogspot.com.es/
And you can find mine in the description for a slightly different style.
Google tutorials on how to add downloadable CVs and anything else you might want.
Heres my site incase you want to see a different layout from Lukes.

I know nothing about designing websites and I made my site in a day of messing with different templates. You can always dive into the html and edit the templates as well.

I primarily use wordpress for my site. Iadagraca.com made the theme myself but you'll find tons to download.
Many Polycounters use it. They sell domain names too.
If you go for Weebly, make sure it's not Flash-based with slow-loading lightbox for images that don't allow Save Image As...
Some carbonmade themes don't allow Save Image either, I think.
I use weebly, i've been using it for years now, and i't pretty cool and easy. It's drag'n'drop, you can embed anything, free version doesnt have publicity or anoying stuff like wix (only a *made in weebly* thingy in the footer), no flash banners on most themes (Never saw flash in fact), and you can save the lightbox picture. You even have options to have the lightbox on or off. Lots of control when you dig, easy to use, it's free, the paid version is cheap.
It's just awesome.
