custom hotkeys in maya. Care to share yours?
I am new to maya and want to start adding hotkeys in the hotkey editor. Initial plan is to have Alt + the QWERTASDFZXCV keys set aside as my personal hotkeys.
I know many here prefer marking menus, but I am on a laptop and dont have a pen tablet. (as a student dont want to buy one just yet as the budget doesnt allow it). Before you ask, I use the shelf button for things that need middle-mouse button like panning in viewport. Maybe in the future i will invest in some hardware but for now I am just going to setup the hotkeys.
So care to share your personal hotkeys to help me set-up my own? Alt + the QWERTASDFZXCV seems like a good section for my left hand to be at whilst the right hand is modeling on the laptop trackpad.

shift e: insert edge loop
shift r: slide edge
shift s: merge vertices
ctrl w: ... I can't recall right now
ctrl e: merge vertex tool
Other than that I try to use the hot box.
