I`ve been stalking this forum for quite some time now, but because of my innate procrastination superpower, i haven`t managed to complete any new dota 2 items, aside from 1 PL lance. That stops now!
I`ve recently been working on a adapted crystalis version for Sven (yes, i did it! i broke the character`s color palette, but i think it might work for this case), but i ran into some texture problems... again:
Altough i managed to understand the basic of the mask 1&2, i seem to be having a problem with sven`s ultimate: God`s strength. As you all know, sven, although Blue, Suddenly turns Red when angry...... Well here is my problem.... my sword turns from initial Red to a dark-ish - purple-ish shade of blue.
anyone knows how to fix this? do i have to modify one of the texture`s channels? or do i have to make a sepparate texture for it.
Thanks for the help in advance, and i don`t mind any CRITicism while you`re at it.

not related to his masks. his detail map is a fancy pink and yellow scrolling texture that fills all the indents on his armour usually
you can even see this effect in your own screenshots. check out the red on his hat in both pics
The detail mask (mask1 R-channel) handles the glowing/pulsing effect of the sword when sven ults.
Neither mask1 nor mask2 change the "darkening" that happens to the blade when sven ults.
But in order to resolve your problem you could just use the detail maks to make the whole blade glow.
It will still not stay red but rather pulse orange-white-pink which is probably still an improvement to purple.
My guess would be that you need to edit the source files yourself in order to remove that darkening shader. The default masks the importer takes do not affect it from what i tested.

didn`t quite managed to get the black part out, but i did manage to make it glowy as heavens!
I followed smitty`s tutorials on the masks, so i got every channel colored or at least black, xajai.
Also, i made a blue version of it just for the fun of seeing how it looks..... check it in the link if you guys want to.
1 final question: anyone knows if i have to accept and fill every single one of the slots in order for it to go into the new items in the workshop? because i remember that new items were automatically shown there. at least that`s how my last item was processed
