Help me please, my weapon finish always looks low res.

I'm using GIMP, the image is a 4096x4096 tga file, converted to vtf etc...

it lookks like this in GIMP (1st attachment).

Even from afar you can tell something is wrong (2nd attachment).

But it get worse when it gets closer (3rd attachment).

Any advice on making the lines look smoother? i've tried everything i know, which isn't much to be honest.

Maybe trying to set size value : 1 to 2 or 3
will work.
and check VTFedit setting also

I mean pattern_scale on workbench options.

Two solutions I gave you is all I know.

(also, in one screenshot you can see the scale is set to 1)

You must check the checbox Ingore_sizescale ON, and move to the left the scrolls of size and rotation in the bottom menu.
