Hello,
this is my first time posting here so I may be posting in the wrong section, if so please let me know and I'll move onto another board
Ok so, I've basically started learning Zbrush about a month ago, I already have some basic modelling skills in Max but Zbrush seems much more fun. I'm not trying to learn it for work or something.
Here's one of my first models, I've been working on it on and off for 2 days and I've started from a 3Dsphere so basically everything is made from skratch ( I know making a base model in max is easier but I wanted to learn it the hard way).
some areas are wip, like the back of the hair and rest of the torso, but please let me know if there are major issues like proportions or whatnots.
Also I don't know how other artist achieve that smooth blending and edges..I just seem to get rough patches in some areas. A higher subdivison might help? (i'm at 3 atm, and ~800kactive point - which btw are the same thing as polys?)
Also I'm basing my model on the castanic female chars from tera just so you know.
Thank you

Hope this helps, my main issue is the view from the side, the front is pretty much fine.
After i sketched this i noticed you said it was based off of tera so i think the main thing is pushing the eyes back.
Those characters do seem to have somewhat flatter appearances from the side but their eyes are still much further inward.
hope this helps
I've modified her head based on adagraca's painover which helped a lot but tried to keep the sort of elongated features the castanic race has.
Changed her hairstyle 'cause I felt long hair will help me hide the ears so I won't work that much on those and I didn't want that.
Also got the chance to work on the body...I got into a lot of problems with that..some of them I fixed some not. like the feet/boots/tiptoes which atm look like a witch's socks and the hands that are really crappy, but then again I didn't manage to work very much on those.
Also I have another problem:
I made the head as a subtool, and the body as another subtool. When I merge these two they remain separate, that is I can't use claybuildup/move or anything because it treats the objects separately. Any idea on how to merge these as one solid object?
and a little moodboard
I'd say you need to soften some of the facial features more, the nose bridge is too thin, and the chin line a little too strong.
If it helps I'd recomend using a 3d anatomy reference to make the figure more detailed. like the Mara3D apps on android if you have that. I'd also recommend not modeling the shoes as part of the model cause you could easily get the shape off.
Other than that I'd recommend using a sphere for the eyes on a separate sub tool.
Also in response to your other question you could use dynamesh to merge them.
