References not working properly

Hey guys, I managed to set up a reference properly. However, when I am looking at it from the front, the vertices and edges on the far sides of the mode seem to look like they are leaning out:



I was watching Joe Harfords tracker knife tutorial and he didn't seem to have this problem, even though he set it up the same way:



Did I set something up wrong, is there an option I need to change or something?

Any help would be appreciated

Is your view port in orthographic or perspective?

Perspective, I tried orthographic and now its working fine. Im new to modelling so I sometimes don't know the basic problems
