Help with anatomy book

I'm trying to learn anatomy using Andrew Loomis book "Figure Drawing For All it's worth", but in the first chapter I get really lost about things like: the flat diagram and the manekin with action involved.

I want to know if you guys have any suggestion of other books or any tips to learn using the loomis book.

I'm not sure exactly what you're stuck on, but honestly that's probably the best introductory book, nothing too complicated, so I can't really recommend something else. Don't let yourself get too caught up on any one thing, if you don't get it just keep reading forward and doing studies and then come back to it, maybe you'll get it later.

Here are the best anatomy books in my opinion:

Eliot Goldfinger - Human Anatomy for Artists
Stephen Rogers Peck - Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist
Gottfried Bammes - Die Gestalt des Menschen
George b. Bridgman - Complete guide to drawing from life
+ Michael Hampton- Figure Drawing - Design and Invention *good analitycal anatomy*
