Am I mistaken that it's not -7 GMT yet? I've finished my work but I cannot submit it any longer. Am I out of the contest? I've updated my WIPs with my final posts. Please respond.
I have no other explanation than that it is wrong, the time submissions wouldn't be accepted was supposed to be 23:59 GMT-7 given the contest information page, which means means that they have 21:40 right now.
I'm honestly quite upset by this since I was literally about to submit them in the same minute it was closed..
Thanks everyone for your responses, I can't tell you how panicked I was when I saw that glowing green 'CLOSED' button where the post button should have been.
I hope its fixed soon and the entry still counts... ill be sad if it doesn't .... where should I post now? just in-case... to show the time posted.... just in my wip thread?
That would be a smart move, showing the timestamp of when it was last edited and created is what matters. We'll hopefully get this sorted, I've PMd Adam but I'm looking around for other admins to re-open it
Nother update, I made a post on the official UT forums in the environment section about this problem. I'm brand new to UT forums so hey over there I was in lurking mode but now, needed to post something about this!
I will surely do so once the contest is over, but right now I'm not sure if that would be fine should something change about this situation and make my submission in some way accepted.
Already saw your post, chimed in to confirm what you said, but well, somehow the forum software just picked my post for random moderation. Oh well...
No more submissions past this point are going to count! Even though we're running this unofficially, we still want to abide by the rules.
If you want to share your concept with the community after the deadilne is over, well it won't count for the contest but people would love to see new concepts over on the official UT forums in the environment art section.
Thanks for having taken care of all this and for all the great feedback on almost every single thread here during the contest, FirebornForm!
Already posted mine over there as well.
Good luck to all of us (involuntary) late-comers, I guess. Still somewhat grumpy I couldn't submit my stuff officially, I bet the overtime after it was closed was roughly 10 seconds or something like that for me.
As I said in my thread over at the UT forum: Bird poop happens... I guess. :P
Yeah it was a pretty huge mistake but that's all it was. The best thing we can do is make sure people at Epic see the plight and the threads of the other-submission thread.
Thanks man, I don't think it's possible to comment on everyone and give feedback to everyone during the contest while slamming on my own stuff i tried my best. Early on I noticed that Warren and lots of people were chiming in on all sorts of feedback but that died off A LOT past the first week. I tried to fill the gaping hole I felt was left when there wasn't any feedback like that going on anymore.
I know people like to work on their own thing, but we just want to make the best UT possible and bouncing ideas off eachother is great for that. I know I would never have ended up with some concepts like Retrograde or Vortex if I didn't look at some nuclear chimneys which was Land's suggestion. Granted I went overboard than what he probably intended the suggestion to be but i springboarded off of his feedback.
Hey guys! I've reopened the submissions page for entries and we will close it again tonight, AUGUST 5TH, 2014 @ 23:59 EST (GMT - 4)
My apologies in closing the submissions thread too early and I hope this small bit of extra time is useful to anyone who may have been interrupted by my mistake

I encourage EVERYONE to post their environments over to the forums. For a multitude of reasons.

I don't think I've ever let such a big sigh of relief go and I doubt anyone can imagine...
WHEW.
Thanks, Adam!
