Knightlord polycounter lvl 3
Hi Polycount!

I made a blockout for a mech. I would like some critics and comments about the general shape of the mech and the overall concept. I am really looking to improve my skills in 3ds max and build a good portfolio and this will be my first piece.

I would like also some ideas about what i could add.(ex.: Weapons, shield, backpack/jetpack,etc.)

First off, I'm certainly no expert in mechs and / or anatomy, so if I'm talking bs, just ignore my comments ;). Though guessing your mech probably wants to have humanoid proportions, these are some things you might want to fix.
-The upper limbs (arm and leg), are too short. In the image the 'right' proportions should be clear. The hands look really small aswell.
-It's not really clear what 'gender' it should represent for me, though if I had to guess I'd go for female (hourglass shape). If it has to represent one at all, after all it's a mech
-It's head doesn't look like it has much space to move, apart from slightly to left and right.

Looks like a descent start though, keep on going.

You're off to a great start!

I agree with BertR, and one thing that I think that he may have forgotten to point out:

If you draw a straight line from the humans elbow, you'll see that the elbow joint on the mech is a lot higher .

Also the scale of the hands seems a bit small when compared to the body. Compare how big the humans hands are to his face
