Sci fi Ship Map

Hey there!
Me and 2 friends are currently working on a sci fi/horror themed map for a class project. So far everything's going great and definitely having a lot of fun working on it.
Well here are some props I've made for the map, let me know what you think!

I really like, you put in some great texture work, nice job!

Everything looks great except if I was just looking at it without being told what it is, I wouldn't know what it was. It looks like a cool beat up piece of machinery, but a soda machine, I don't see it at first.

I didn't get that it was a soda can at first. It looked like some kind of recessed feature with really harsh shadows drawn into the diffuse. Which made the lettering going over the top of an indent confusing.

The lettering doesn't have the same level of wear as the other details on the same machine and it doesn't really complement the can that well. They look like two very different pieces that are kind of disjointed. The font is not all that iconic or legible which can be considered mortal sins in the advertising world, heh.


I personally would redo the soda can logo, and turn it so the mouth of the can is facing the person viewing. I sometimes struggle with perspective so I would probably quickly model up a can, take a quick render/screen grab and paint over the top of it.

So yea, cool stuff, need to work on the faux advertising a bit to help sell that it's a soda machine.

Thank you! I'll make sure to go ahead and fix that, teacher just told me same thing today. I'll post update once it's finished. Oh and these are a few more Assets I made. I was told to work on detailing the maps a bit more. The column I'm going to upload is the most recent asset, with I would say most detailing done.
