You can open the normal map's green channel, ctrl+a to select all then ctrl+i to invert the green channel, after that you flip the normal y, because the normal y is the green channel of normal map.
Is this a bug reporting forum ? If so, this should be noted as a bug.
Checking flip normal Y, has no effect. Neither on the 3D preview, nor on the export.
We know theres an easy workaround, but that doesnt mean that DDO should stay buggy.
In order for this to work your normal must be an NDO normal. To do this go to Mix -> Normal to nDo2. After doing that, flipping channels through NDO should work.

when you bake in max your normal map the Y is always flipped. i could be that the previewer show some false results. check it in ps out.
if it dont fits just open your map in ps and flip the green channel by hand. and the problem is solved.
